2016 marks a milestone in the partnership between Bimbadgen and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney. As the MCA celebrates 25 years redefining Sydney’s artistic landscape, Bimbadgen is proud to celebrate our involvement as an MCA partner for the last 15 years. To commemorate this special occasion, we have extended our collaboration with the MCA to showcase these spectacular images on all of our Estate wines bottled in 2016.

This Rosè is a blend of our Tempranillo and Shiraz blocks. Made in the Provence style, it is dry, bright and light. The wine bursts with fresh red berries, rose and watermelon aromas. The palate is equally fresh, balanced by natural acidity with a lovely texture.

Pat Brassington is a photo-media artist whose practice probes the uncanny and ambiguous. Informed by Surrealism, her enigmatic works are both seductive and disturbing with a dream-like quality.

  • Grown:
A blend of Bimbadgen’s own Tempranillo and Shiraz blocks from our McDonalds Rd property, Hunter Valley.
  • Picked:
Tempranillo 3rd February, Shiraz from 29th January onwards, 2016.
  • Made:
The Tempranillo grapes were harvested in the cool of the night, crushed and pressed and the juice allowed to settle in tank. The Shiraz portion is from bleeding off juice from our harvested Shiraz batches, known in French as “saignee”. Both the Tempranillo (51%) and Shiraz (49%) juice were fermented together. Fermentation was held at a cool temperature, maximizing the wines aromas. The wine was fined using natural fining agents before final filtration and bottling.
